Waste No Food 3.0

Waste No Food is a registered nonprofit organization that operates a web-based marketplace designed to facilitate the donation of surplus food from the food service industry to qualified charitable organizations serving those in need. Despite the fact that approximately one-third of all food produced—whether from farms, restaurants, or grocery stores—is discarded, there has historically been a lack of an efficient system to connect entities with excess food to communities experiencing hunger across California and the United States. Waste No Food aims to address this gap by providing a streamlined platform for food donation.

Donors interested in contributing their surplus can register on the platform and post available food items as they become accessible. Qualified charities located nearby can then claim these donations, provided they have been vetted by Waste No Food to ensure legitimacy and accountability. It is the responsibility of the recipient charities to manage transportation and proper handling of the donated food, ensuring that it reaches those in need safely and efficiently.
